I have seen a lot of multi keys. From the expensive commercial Keyport and beautiful keygrip to the wonderful Leatherman mods on Instructables. After making this ible I found the KeySmart and two Instructables(Folding Key Chain and Friendly Folding Keychain) which are very similar.
The pictured set includes:

  • Locker lock key
  • Work door key
  • House door keys
  • USB drive (16GB)
  • Bottle opener
  • Phillips screwdriver (No. 2)

Chrom-ART Accelerator™ Opens New Graphics Possibilities for GUI in Microcontroller Applications
Thanks to the ease of implementing touch sensing and the improved price points for displays and 32-bit microcontrollers (MCU), graphical user interfaces (GUI) have become increasingly present in MCU applications.
In spite of this evolution, some technical challenges have persisted. Typically GUI implementations on microcontrollers (unlike higher end processors targeting mobile appliances) have been limited depending on how much of their processing power, peripherals and memory resources could be dedicated to managing the display and graphics in an application.
Complexity of coding, and relatively limited memory and processing power for graphics management all conspired to make implementation costly and responsiveness of the GUI relatively limited.

A major issue that I ran into when I first started working with my new CNC machine was the cost of raw materials to machine. Sure, a block of plastic is not terribly expensive by itself – but figure in the cost after you mess something up and the cost becomes quite unreasonable. For this reason, I began looking into machinable wax.

Machinable wax is a very hard wax that won’t gum up a cutting tool, is soft enough to machine quickly and most importantly is completely reusable! Since I am cheap, I decided to make my own, which is actually quite simple and could be considered environmentally friendly since we use recycled plastic bags. Be aware that this Instructable is DANGEROUS! We will be melting wax around 300* and this wax will be thick and sticky so it will literally burn your skin off faster than you can say “OUCH!”

As there are players for Windows, Linux and other platforms nowadays, portable players can play just mp3 files which was my motivation to construct this player.

Drilling a straight hole can be difficult because you can only see one side of the bit at a time.  Without a lot of practice, many of the holes end up perpendicular in one plane and not so perpendicular in the other.  Drilling with a conventional guide (2 blocks at 90°) works in some applications, but when using short bits there's not enough room.  This is quick, cheap & easy drilling guide will help you bore accurate holes even with small bits.  Using two small mirrors, it works similar to a dressing room mirror to help you view the bit from all angles.  When all the bits are parallel, start drilling.  It's that easy.

This is a project I made while on Holiday for Christmas, it took about 20 hours and was cheep if you can find the supplies at a second hand store.
It is fully functional and works with infra-red quite well, the iris lens cover was a left over from a pair of goggles that were never finished their construction is much the same as found in my steampunk goggle instructable.

Brazilian researchers develop new anti-inflammatory for severe pain

Researchers at Butantan Institute in São Paulo, Brazil, have developed a powerful new anti-inflammatory to relieve hard-to-control pain. Initial tests have confirmed the efficacy of the medication, which is based on a protein found in the blood.
The main breakthrough of the research is the successful synthesizing of a protein produced by the human body, the calcium binding S100A9. Under certain conditions, this protein is used by our bodies to keep pain under control. To make the medication, the scientists discovered that only a small part of the protein is required, which leads to reduced production costs.
According to researcher Renata Giorgi, the discovery represents an important step forward in relation to drugs available in Brazil. In particular the new drug offers two important advantages: it is more powerful and it can be administered orally.

WikiHouse – the open source house
CNC mill a livable house.
WikiHouse is a new project trying to make house construction open source. With WikiHouse anyone could download plans to CNC mill and assemble a house. The system relies on standard 2440mm x 1220mm (8′ x 4′) 18mm plywood. Besides a CNC mill, you only need basic hardware and hand tools. The plans can be altered in Google Sketchup and new designs can be offered back to the community.

There have been many open source projects over the last few years, but most focus on digital technology or, to a lesser extent, small scale physical products. Larger construction brings with it imposing practical challenges. WikiHouse is one of the few to try and overcome these challenges.
WikiHouse is still in the early stages, so the plans are not yet available for download. The organizers are currently looking for collaborators, so have a look at the site if you are interested.
