3D Printed Vacuum Cleaner for a CNC MachineNikus
As I started to use my Dremel CNC more often I noticed that after milling wood and MDF there is a lot of thin dust everywhere around. I also faced a problem with aluminum chips that got stuck in a lead screw, so I added a cover for the lead screws but I knew that the best solution would be attaching a vacuum cleaner to the machine. I have a really big and loud workshop vacuum cleaner that is way too powerful for this task. While I was scrolling through posts in Dremel CNC builders group on Facebook I noticed Jan's post about his 3D printed vacuum cleaner. I thought that it's a really cool idea to build a small vacuum cleaner that I can put next to my CNC machine and keep it on all the time when CNC is milling. So I opened Fusion 360 at 1 AM and 2 hours later my very own 3D printed vacuum cleaner was ready to be printed. Before you will start reading this instructable you have to know that this was more of like an experiment than a project, I had no idea if it will work, I just did a quick research on the internet to find out how cyclonic separation works and how vacuum cleaner turbine looks like. But I have to say that this project exceeded my expectations a lot!

G-Code Generator – All You Need to Know

David Pechter
These days, computer numerical control (CNC) machines range from 3D printers to lathes, mills, and engraving machines that use lasers, plasma, or water jets. Computer control manages tool movements, spindle speed and coolant flow for CNC lathes and mills, and extrusion and bed temperatures for 3D printers. Over time, a common computer language evolved for CNC: G-code.
G-code is the not-so-secret sauce that runs a 3D printer. Based on your STL model and your settings, your slicing program decides how to make your part. It takes into account layer thickness, infill percentage, support, adhesion, extrusion, and bed temperature to generate a G-code recipe for your part, which can be understood by your printer. Each motion of the printer is given, for example, to trace the perimeter, cross-hatch, or trace interior holes. Temperature control, extrusion, and retraction are also given in G-code.

Brutalmente porreiro!

3D Printer the C3Dt/bd (Big Delta)

Core3D

The C3Dt/bd is my latest 3D printer design and has been turning heads at various Maker Faires and most notably at the MidWest RepRap Festival 2019. It is large and and it is accurate and most importantly, most of it's parts are off the shelf. Following are some of the features of the C3Dt/bd:
  • Build Volume: 330mm(dia)x1240mm
  • Board: DuetWifi (24Volt)
  • Screen: Panel Due
  • Delta Smart Effector
  • BondTech Extruder
  • Flying extruder
  • Hot-end: E3D
  • Auto bed Leveling
  • BuildTak Flex Plate system (magnetic bed)
  • Built-in bed tensioning
  • Haydn Huntley’s Magball Delta arms
  • Easily detachable Flying extruder
  • 110volt heated bed
  • 6.8mm aluminum bed
  • Nema 23 stepper motors
  • Unique Cable Management
  • Board cooling fans
  • Parts cooling fan
  • 40mm fan bracket for heatsink (reduces noise)
Optional wheels in case you move it a lot
Fair warning, this is NOT a budget printer. Parts can easily run into to the thousands, but you do get one nicely working printer out of this. This being my first Delta, I was concerned about calibration and troubleshooting but I found that with the combination of parts/features above, the setup was child's play compared to some of the other printers I have designed.

Build a Plasma Cutter Pantograph!Wildman Tech
I need a way to make clean and repeatable cuts with my plasma cutter. A CNC is a great answer that I don't have space for. Here is a compact and inexpensive solution to the problem. It is more accurately named a pattern follower because you make plywood patterns that it can cut over and over again.

Dimensions 750x470x320mm including the truss and the footings.
The main frame with the truss can handle a 6T jack mounded at the upper side of frame with no problems of distortions or cracks. If you plan to use a 3T jack, the truss can be skipped.
It is a tool, that can handle vary tasks, according the dies that we have or that we will made.
It is a circle without end.
What isHydraulic Press
A Hydraulic Press is a machine press using a hydraulic cylinder to generate a compressive force. It uses the hydraulic equivalent of a mechanical lever, and was also known as a Bramah press after the inventor, Joseph Bramah, of England. He invented and was issued a patent on this press in 1795. As Bramah (who is also known for his development of the flush toilet) installed toilets, he studied the existing literature on the motion of fluids and put this knowledge into the development of the press.

Simple Vise Modifications to Bend MetalsThe other Finnish guy
Hi
This is my instructable about simple modifications to vise, to make tidy bends to metals.
There is multiple methods and attachments for different bending tasks, i wanted to find a solution that uses mostly actual vise itself.
I have been building a new kind of vise, these modifications are kind of prototypes that I wanted to test before actual building. Decided to share these first, because its obvious that everyone doesn't want to build the whole vise by them self.
I used my diy vise as a base, but these can be used with commercial vises too.

DIY 3D Printed Dremel CNC
Nikus

When I got my first 3D printer I was extremely happy with all the new possibilities to create things but after some time I noticed the limitations of 3D printing. Plastic is easy to melt, sometimes it's not mechanically resistant enough and most importantly sometimes doesn't look good. Don't take me wrong here, I love 3D printing and I like plastic (except plastic waste) but there are things that look, work or feel way better when made out of nonplastic material. Imagine all your furniture made out of plastic. Sometimes I prefer wood, when I need strength, metal (mostly aluminum) is a way to go. That's where CNC milling machines are used. Usually, the cost of such machine is really high, most of the hobbyist, small makers can't afford such expensive equipment. That's why the idea of building my own CNC machine sparked in my head.

How to Make a Picoballoon
Jakub_Nagy

What is a picoballoon and why would I want to build it?! I hear you ask. Let me explain. You all probably know what a HAB (High Altitude Balloon) is. It's a bunch of weird electronics stuff connected to a balloon. There are soooo many tutorials regarding HABs here on Instructables.
BUT, and that's a very big BUT what they don't tell you most times in the tutorial is the cost of the filling gas. Now, you can build a decent HAB tracker under 50€, but if it weighs 200g (which is a pretty optimistic guess with the batteries, cameras, etc.) the helium to fill the balloon can cost you 200€ or more, which is just too much for many makers like me.
So, as you can guess, picoballoons solve this problem by just not being bulky and heavy. Picoballoon is just a word for a light HAB. Light, what do I mean by light? In general, picoballoons are lighter than 20g. Now, just imagine that a processor, transmitter, a PCB, GPS, antennas, a solar panel and also a battery with a mass same as a disposable coffee cup or a spoon. Isn't that just insane?
