Formcard!

FORMcard
Melt, Mold, Make, Mend
FORMcard is a handy, pocket sized card of meltable bio-plastic. Simply drop it in a cup of hot water to make little solutions to everyday problems. When it's cool it's really strong like nylon, so you can make solid durable solutions with it, and then you can reheat it again and again to adapt, change and reuse it. Because it's a convenient card size, you can keep one in your pocket, wallet, kitchen drawer or tool box so that it's there whenever and wherever it's needed.
A great benefit is that when it's very hot, it sticks to some other plastics, so you can actually use it to instantly fix say.... a favourite plastic shovel when you are on holiday.
(please remember that hot water and hot FORMcards should be handled with GREAT care as either can scold you. Very hot FORMcards are sticky when they first come out of the hot water and can also stick to wooden surfaces. Work on a ceramic plate and if in doubt about using it, let it cool down first, you can always heat it up again later on!)
FORMcard is designed and developed by Peter Marigold and launched on Kickstarter on the 11th November 2015. It was successfully funded on the first day and completed the campaign with 816% funding and more than 2000 backers. It will soon be fully commercially available around the world.
It would be great to connect with you on social media where we will be posting updates as the project develops by clicking on the links at the bottom of this page.

TETRIX 3D-Printer
k2tech
The TETRIX 3D-Printer was designed as an educational tool for middle and high school technology students, robotics teams, and adults. The purpose of constructing the printer is to train people's building, tool usage, electronics, CAD, and programming skills with a single project. You also get a 3D-printer once you're done!
The printer design is based on TETRIX parts, which are designed by PITSCO and used in the FIRST Tech Challenge robotics competition. The printer also utilizes elements of various RepRap printer designs, such as the Printrboard control system. The design is completely open-source, so feel free to personalize and alter your printer.
The overall cost of the printer is about $640, and the educational value is priceless! The majority of the cost is attributed to the TETRIX parts, but the high accuracy of the pre-drilled, pre-sized aircraft-grade aluminum saves time and reduces error, which outweighs the price.

Fenomenal.

ATtiny85 Ring Watch

Based on the previous Instructables - ATtiny Watch Core and more, I have made a real gadget, an ATtiny85 Ring Watch.
MCU
Today core subject, ATtiny85. Someone suggest me to use SOIC version to reduce the watch size and I found the coin cell mAh calculation method will count the battery voltage down to 2.0 V, so this watch require a low voltage version MCU to keep it stable. So I have ordered an ATTINY85V-10SU. (much expensive $_$)

Querem ver no escuro?

DIY Infrared Night Vision Device

eyebot117

I've been involved with airsoft for about two years being affiliated with a large local group of people in our community who meet regularly and have scheduled games, ops, and events. Airsoft is a great sport and hobby that encourages teamwork, honor, respect, communication, and discipline (as well as how to wisely make purchases). I recently played a game at night and realized how cool it would be if I could utilize some form of night vision. The more I researched it, the more I wanted to see in the dark somehow.
Unfortunately, true night vision in even the lowest quality can cost hundreds of dollars just for the optic alone, excluding hardware necessary to mount the optic to a helmet or airsoft rifle. It's expensive technology. However, there are alternative methods for seeing in the dark. There are several versions of educational night vision viewers and toy spy binoculars available on the market for kids and...um...well, geeks like me. They utilize low-lux cameras, infrared illumination, and a display for a more affordable $50-$80 system that can still see in the dark. This is the system I chose to utilize.
Being inspired by DIY'ers like Kipkay, and reading books like 50 Spy Gadgets for the Evil Genius, I chose to invest the money to build my own infrared night vision viewer. Besides, both of those night vision builds use parts that can only be scavenged, not purchased individually. I wanted to show how to build a unit from stuff you can buy online easily or at the store.

Pinshape 3D Printing Design Guide: Learn How to Sell Your Models

Bridget Butler Millsaps
Sometimes the world of 3D printing still feels a bit like the wild, wild west. The rules are being made up as we go, and it’s still a fairly lawless frontier, as well as one where you, well, sometimes just have no idea how to pull off a particular concept, or no earthly idea why something went wrong when you were in the throes of creativity, bringing a supposedly great design to fruition. And of course, when things do go stupendously, we want to share. Thank goodness now for the talented—and generous—souls in the Pinshape community, who have offered up all of their tips, now compiled in their Pinshape 3D Printing Design Guide.

Controlling any device using a Raspberry Pi and a relay module

julienrl
The goal of this ible is to show how to get started with setting up a relay module on your pi and controlling it. My goal is to add scripts to my octopi to turn on and off LED lights, but anyway you decide to eventually control the GPIO commands, the setup is the same.

Tube bender

lecgo
I would have liked it to make a new seat for my recumbent bicycle and for it was necessary some aluminium tubes and to bend those on proper shape. In our town I have not found a place to bend some tubes and I have decided to make my own tube bender for this work.

Engineers have a bright future in 3D printing & optics
Jess Hedstrom

The optical industry is one of the most exciting industries affected by additive manufacturing, as well as one of the oldest. The earliest known lenses were made from polished crystal in 750 BC and though we’ve seen upgrades to the industry over the centuries thanks to engineering, we are at the brink of an amazing breakthrough! 3D printers, both professional and desktop, are pushing the boundaries of what can be done. Today we are going to discover how this industry is being democratized before our eyes.
In this article we will uncover the benefits of 3D printing technology on lens + frame manufacturing, while at the same time discovering how the ocular medical industry is shifting thanks to the technology. We also dissect how LED lighting and virtual reality have utilized additive manufacturing to make giant leaps in the optical industry.

Make A One Desk Electronics Lab (in a small place, for beginners)
Imetomi

Living without closets and without a work room isn't easy, really don't like that I have a small room. We have a weekend house, that I'm visiting very often because I have a whole electronics lab there (with Arduino stations and many more), but here at home in my extremly small room I haven't enough space to make a fully functional lab, so I should be creative.
In this Instructable I'll show and explain you how to organize your desk to have everything that is neccesary for electronics projects. I'll show you that what kind of tools and parts are needed in your inventory. If you're a beginner hope I'll help you. I also will show you some life hacks that you may find useful. If you liked this Instructable let me know if you want to see my electronics workplace.

An aplication of the Halbach Array, by wich, groups of Magnets, each set 90 degrees to the next, have almost all the magnetic attraction concentrated on one side, i.e. a Monopole Magnet. In this case, the top Magnets, by the lever on the back, turn 180 degrees, so as to either attract or repell the sliding bottom array, thus creating a switchable magnet array, out of permanent Magnets.

CNC Laser Cutter Journey
Arno1978
I want to share with you the journey had had , creating my very own CNC laser cutter.
This projects is about 2 years in the making, due to research and development, and spending allot of time on www.instructables.com it took me a bit longer than anticipated , but I finally decided to start building my very own CNC laser cutter in the middle of 2014.
Motivation behind this was that I fly and build model airplanes , and wanted an easier more precise method of manufacturing parts for these planes etc.

Download SPIROL's Complimentary Coiled Spring Pins Design Guide.
SPIROL invented the Coiled Spring Pin and its production technology in 1948. Since that time, the Coiled Spring Pin has proven to be the most versatile spring pin in the industry. More than fasteners, SPIROL Coiled Pins provide flexibility, uniform strength, equal stress distribution, closer diameter tolerances, no interlocking, trouble-free automatic feeding, and they reduce costs. Learn how you can take advantage of Coiled Pins in your assembly!

NewGenuino 101 board powered by Intel

Genuino 101 Development Board powered by Intel

The more experienced among you can also use the board to prototype IoT designs such as wearables and Smart home/leisure devices. A successor to the Arduino Uno, the Genuino 101 board features extra functionality, notably Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), a six-axis accelerometer and a gyroscope.

How to Design a 3D Printer
3DHotpants

I recently built my own 3D printer with a friend. The process was both challenging and rewarding, and it's awesome to have a 3D printer of my own design. However, I found very little information out there on how to make a 3D printer from scratch on my own.
The goal of this instructable is to help those interested in 3D printing to have a chance to design and build something that is truly their own and providing resources to help organize the process of making a 3D printer. This process mirrors the engineering process very closely, but will also provide useful resources along the way.

Gduino-No Programmer Required!! for 5$,Programs Multiple AVRs

Gursimran Singh 425

Arduino is familiar to anyone who loves to build tech.It is very common in project makers. But why 25$ For this board!! We can make our own!! In this instructable I am going to show you how to build an arduino at home that doesn't need any external programmers like USBASP or serial communicators.USBASP is already embedded inside this circuit!! I was impressed by bjkayani's instructable Beeduino ,the tutorial is well detailed and also Thomas Fischl's USBASP.I decided to make both these circuits on one board. Not by soldering a perfboard or on breadboard but on our very own built PCB!! Yes we can make it at home!! I will show two ways of etching PCBs and also tell which one would be better!! The other interesting thing is that I made it in just 5$ 5 times less than that of original arduino. And also we can program many other programmable ICs like ATtiny45/85 etc.Enjoy!!

Antes

Depois

SVG Nest
What exactly is "nesting"?
We have some (2d) parts to cut and a piece of material, we want to arrange the parts to use as little material as possible. This is a common problem if you use a laser cutter, plasma cutter, CNC machine etc.
In computer terms this is called the irregular bin-packing problem
How much does it cost?
It's free and open source. The code and implementation details are on Github

How to Make an Arduino Powered CNC Machine

AbsorberOfLight

Step-by-step instructions on how to build a low cost CNC machine controlled with an Arduino Uno!
Roller skate wheels will be used to create the X-Axis sled. A combination of 2in and 1in steel tubing will form the base of the machine.

How to make a mini Gas-jet (up to 1000ºC)

Roman UrsuHack

Gas-jet (up to 1000ºС) with your own hands!
With the turned on blowing the gas-jet has a good heating power, it can set alight a plumbeous pellet in a few seconds (up to 1000ºС)!
In conclusion I'd like to say: this gas-jet may be improved by installing an ergonomical (pistol) handle and add the piezoelectric element for lighters for the facilitation of firing.

Ford's Advanced Prototyping, Personalization and Low-Volume Production Technology

Ford Media
Ford engineers are developing a highly flexible, first-of-its-kind, patented technology to rapidly form sheet metal parts for low-volume production applications. Once fully developed, the technology (Ford Freeform Fabrication Technology, or F3T) will allow for lower costs and ultrafast delivery times for prototypes -- within three business days versus conventional methods that take anywhere from two to six months.
