3D Printed Vacuum Cleaner for a CNC MachineNikus 
As I started to use my Dremel CNC more often I noticed that after milling wood and MDF there is a lot of thin dust everywhere around. I also faced a problem with aluminum chips that got stuck in a lead screw, so I added a cover for the lead screws but I knew that the best solution would be attaching a vacuum cleaner to the machine. I have a really big and loud workshop vacuum cleaner that is way too powerful for this task. While I was scrolling through posts in Dremel CNC builders group on Facebook I noticed Jan's post about his 3D printed vacuum cleaner. I thought that it's a really cool idea to build a small vacuum cleaner that I can put next to my CNC machine and keep it on all the time when CNC is milling. So I opened Fusion 360 at 1 AM and 2 hours later my very own 3D printed vacuum cleaner was ready to be printed. Before you will start reading this instructable you have to know that this was more of like an experiment than a project, I had no idea if it will work, I just did a quick research on the internet to find out how cyclonic separation works and how vacuum cleaner turbine looks like. But I have to say that this project exceeded my expectations a lot!

These days, computer numerical control (CNC) machines range from 3D printers to lathes, mills, and engraving machines that use lasers, plasma, or water jets. Computer control manages tool movements, spindle speed and coolant flow for CNC lathes and mills, and extrusion and bed temperatures for 3D printers. Over time, a common computer language evolved for CNC: G-code.
G-code is the not-so-secret sauce that runs a 3D printer. Based on your STL model and your settings, your slicing program decides how to make your part. It takes into account layer thickness, infill percentage, support, adhesion, extrusion, and bed temperature to generate a G-code recipe for your part, which can be understood by your printer. Each motion of the printer is given, for example, to trace the perimeter, cross-hatch, or trace interior holes. Temperature control, extrusion, and retraction are also given in G-code.

Fair warning, this is NOT a budget printer. Parts can easily run into to the thousands, but you do get one nicely working printer out of this. This being my first Delta, I was concerned about calibration and troubleshooting but I found that with the combination of parts/features above, the setup was child's play compared to some of the other printers I have designed.

Very simple and cheap Infra-Red night vision googles, using a model A raspberry pi, a NOIR camera and Quanum FPV Goggles.
For a while now I have been playing with Multicopters, and whilst I prefer to make the models myself and fly them properly with a transmitter, I couldn’t help being interested in First person View (FPV) so I got a camera and transmitter and a small monitor. My first attempt didn’t end well I took off the model by sight and the monitor was in the back of the car. Then when I was happy I took my eyes off the model and looked at the small monitor, I flew for about 30 seconds then looked up…… I hadn’t got a clue where the model was! When I finally spotted it I couldn’t work out which way it was facing and flew it into a tree!
After that poor attempt I wondered if goggles would be a better choice so I had a look on line and found that the decent goggles are a lot of money, then I saw the Quanum goggles and at £32 a thought they were worth a go.

Today SeeedStudio launched an intriguing new Kickstarter project, the RePhone. Reminiscent of Project Ara, Google’s much hyped but continually delayed effort to build a “hardware ecosystem” around smart phones, the RePhone is a modular phone built from open source components.  
The core of the phone is provided by the RePhone Core GSM + BLE module, or by the RePhone Core 3G module, which provides a faster data connection but lacks BLE support. However, beyond these two core modules offering the cell connection are 8 more add-on modules from Seeed’s Xadow range — a 1.54-inch touch screen, a 5×7 LED board, an NFC board, a GPS board, an audio board, a basic sensor board, a GSM breakout board and an Arduino-compatible microcontroller.

I’ve been collecting clever ways of slotting flat stock together since I first read Nomadic Furniture back in 1999, well before the advent of the accessible hobby-class CNC tools that today make manufacturing parts like these pretty easy. Now, the world is full of people designing models, project enclosures, sculpture, furniture, and all kinds of other cool stuff to be assembled from parts made on laser cutters and CNC routers. I keep expecting a definitive book or website to emerge that covers the “bag of tricks” in an organized way, but so far, I haven’t found it. Maybe this article can serve as a jumping-off point. In any case, I think it’s time to share my notebook of CNC panel joinery.

Sistema de "contrafortes" e "arcobotantes"

Gostaria de compartilhar com vocês aqui um sistema de "contrafortes" e "arcobotantes" externos para ajudar a combater o warp especialmente em peças de ABS que não grudam nem com reza braba e pai de santo.
Chamo de "contraforte" e "arcobotante" pois o conceito estrutural é o mesmo que esses elementos exercem nas catedrais góticas: conduzem as forças para fora da estrutura principal. No caso das construções medievais trata-se de forças de compressão da gravidade, mas para nós são as forças de tensão resultantes da retração do ABS..
Basicamente são peças com uma base de "orelha" desconectada da peça principal, que a partir da 5ª camada aproximadamente faz uma ponte fina, com 2-4 perímetros somente, ligando-a à peça. Dessa maneira a retração sofrida por esse apoio externo é mínima e não a faz desgrudar, mesmo que a peça principal solte. E a ponte segura o bicho no lugar. 
Na última foto verão uma peça da Delta que é complicadíssima de se imprimir em ABS, solta em 99,9% dos casos, e essa eu imprimi dessa maneira, e melhor: com a mesa fria e cola de isopor (este método da cola foi desenvolvido em conjunto ao pessoal da lsita RepRapBR)..
É fácil fácil de retirar, basta um creck pro lado (vejam foto com meu dedão) ou no máximo uma passada de estilete. E, se bem feito, não deixa praticamente nenhuma marca.Na impressão da minha extrusora uso esse sistema, vejam aqui no idler, na peça principal e no carro X, por exemplo: 









Pois se queriam era construír uma dessas Impressoras 3D, modelo Delta, de maior rapidez e qualidade que as de treliça, e todas em metal, aqui vejam como o podem fazer:

Para rematar, cá vai um bom conselho da eMmachineShop, não re-inventem a roda, se precisam de fazer algo, usem o máximo de Material já em parte aquilo que vocẽs querem, isto é, Material pré-maquinado:



Pre-shaped Stock 
At eMachineShop, pre-shaped stock is material that comes in special forms other than sheets, plates, blocks or rods. For example, a round or square tube is considered a pre-shaped material. You might be able to reduce cost by specifying a pre-shaped material. For example, a shape that can be made by drilling holes in a hollow tube requires less machining time than starting with a block of material or rod. A part having a one inch square cross section may be more efficient to cut from one inch square bar stock. Note that specifying to use pre-shaped stock does not always reduce price.
