Corte Laser, na Impressora 3D! E DLP acessível, Espelhos poderosos, 3D transparente, e soldardeira de bolso!

AVISO

Get a discount as Endurance Lasers put metal engraving to the test
Beau Jackson

Endurance Lasers gives makers the ability to upgrade 3D printers, CNC routers and other DIY machines with multi tool functionality. By installing a laser diode, these machines become cutting tools and engravers, capable of writing on acrylic, wood, leather and metal, maximizing workshop productivity.
The lasers can be installed on any 3D printer or CNC machine to extend capabilities.
Read on for an exclusive discount.
The 8.5W+ laser, exclusively available to order from the company’s website, is the second most powerful diode in Endurance Laser’s arsenal. Providing “infinite continuous power,” the 8.5W is capable of writing on all manner of surfaces, from stone and wood to leather and sheet metal.
In a series of Endurance experiments, we see how the 8.5W+ makes short work of matte & hard steel, and glossy & composite aluminum.

Anycubic Photon Review: A DLP 3D Printer For Less Than $500
Anatol Locker

Too good to be true? Not at all! Read our Anycubic Photon DLP 3D printer review and follow us on the journey from unboxing and assembly to the first prints.
As far as low-cost desktop DLP 3D printers go, the new Anycubic Photon DLP 3D Printer has emerged as one of the most appealing options on the market. Anycubic has a reputation for building reliable and affordable printers like the Anycubic i3 Mega FDM 3D printer. When it comes to the price, the Anycubic Photon is no exception – it’s one of the cheapest DLP 3D printers out there.
Don’t miss: 20 Best Resin (SLA/DLP) 3D Printers 2018
We recently got our hands on the Anycubic Photon, and decided to give it a test run. Although this isn’t a full-fledged review, we wanted to document our first experience with this unique 3D printer, as well as the unboxing and assembly process. We will continue to update this review as we get more familiar with this beastly little machine.
The Anycubic Photon DLP 3D printer is generating some serious buzz across the community, and for good reason. Priced right around $450, this machine is a potential game-changer for the SLA/DLP desktop 3D printing sector. But talk is cheap; we wanted to see this 3D printer in action.

How To Make Solar Concentrating Mirrors (super HOT focal point)
NightHawkInLight

In this video I show how to convert inexpensive truck mirrors into powerful first surface solar concentrators. Check out my sponsor Brilliant for a really fun way to learn! https://www.Brilliant.org/NightHawk First surface mirrors are an extremely efficient way of concentrating solar energy, much more efficient for their size than a fresnel lens. This type of mirror is also essential for optical applications. Check out the video about making first surface mirrors over on GreenPowerScience: https://youtu.be/IaEaaeajCSI

Learn How to Make Your 3D Prints Truly Transparent
Pinshape Blog

3D printing continues to advance in its ability to create visually accurate prototypes, but most machines are still unable to produce optically clear parts. In this post, you’ll learn why 3D printers struggle to make objects clear straight off the build platform, and you’ll discover 3 techniques for making optically clear parts.

Why Aren’t 3D Prints Clear?
A smooth lake reflects surrounding objects, but when agitated the image warps and distorts. On a smaller scale, this is the effect that causes 3D prints made in a clear material to appear slightly opaque. Layers of a 3D print take on a slightly oval shape creating small gaps between layers that refract light and distort the image.

The above graphic from Taulman3D shows how light travels and bounces inside the layers of a 3D print. The purpose of the techniques you’ll learn today is to either add or subtract material from the print in order to flatten the layers and allow light to pass through without refraction.

The Back Pocket Soldering Kit
Bean_MD

As a budding electronics enthusiasts, I made alot of things on my farm autonomous. With that came the problem that my soldering skill is a bit dodgy.
Recently I had to repair a few of these dodgy solders, which means I had to disassemble and take the part with me to the workshop.
This is a 10km + drive.
So as it is said, necessity is the mother of invention.
This is my kit I can drop in my back pocket, in my cabby hole, I even have one in my sun visor.

Engineers have a bright future in 3D printing & optics
Jess Hedstrom

The optical industry is one of the most exciting industries affected by additive manufacturing, as well as one of the oldest. The earliest known lenses were made from polished crystal in 750 BC and though we’ve seen upgrades to the industry over the centuries thanks to engineering, we are at the brink of an amazing breakthrough! 3D printers, both professional and desktop, are pushing the boundaries of what can be done. Today we are going to discover how this industry is being democratized before our eyes.
In this article we will uncover the benefits of 3D printing technology on lens + frame manufacturing, while at the same time discovering how the ocular medical industry is shifting thanks to the technology. We also dissect how LED lighting and virtual reality have utilized additive manufacturing to make giant leaps in the optical industry.

Make A One Desk Electronics Lab (in a small place, for beginners)
Imetomi

Living without closets and without a work room isn't easy, really don't like that I have a small room. We have a weekend house, that I'm visiting very often because I have a whole electronics lab there (with Arduino stations and many more), but here at home in my extremly small room I haven't enough space to make a fully functional lab, so I should be creative.
In this Instructable I'll show and explain you how to organize your desk to have everything that is neccesary for electronics projects. I'll show you that what kind of tools and parts are needed in your inventory. If you're a beginner hope I'll help you. I also will show you some life hacks that you may find useful. If you liked this Instructable let me know if you want to see my electronics workplace.

Making Custom Lenses
Robb

The world of optics and lens manufacturing has traditionally been closed off to non-experts. It doesn't have to be that way. Using rapid prototyping tools like 3D printers and CNC routers, making a lens is easier than you might think.

You can use the technique outlined in this Instructable to make very large lenses, lenses that produce special effects, and sculptural lenses with freeform shapes. You'll need to know how to use a CNC router or have access to a nice 3D printer. With one of the two you'll be able to start making lenses right away.

Long Bed Printed 3d Printer
dmserve

The Long Bed 3d Printer was created to see how much of a 3d printer could be printed. That lead me to design a frame that could be printed on a heated bed, soon discovered I needed a larger build surface. After making a way to accurately control a larger bed, I had the maximum size that the frame pieces could be. By combining different parts I was able to get the main frame down to 9 pieces.

This Printer Can Reproduce Most of the Parts to make itself
Thanks for Checking This Out

The DIY Laserline
by slurgXX

I have a project coming up, that needs a laserline, that creates a line over a 3 dimensional object in order to mark and cut it somewhat precicely. I´ve attached some pictures, materials i used ( materials i didn´t use) and some shots after finishing the piece.
But lets get to it, here is what you need to bild the thing*
*( some parts are just what i had around, and can be replaced with other random similar stuff, but we get to that later.)

BRUTAL!
Gosto disto. LOL

Gigabot Proves Even 3D Printing is Bigger in Texas
Tyler Winegarner

After their wildy successful first Kickstarter back in 2013, re:3D’s latest iteration of Gigabot, an extra large 3D printer, is Open Gigabot, which currently has two days left on its Kickstarter campaign. The Open Gigabot files are being released on Wevolver, a social enterprise for open source hardware.
Make: spoke with re:3D Co-Founder Katy Jeremko about the ecological inspiration behind the jumbo-sized printers. She says that re:3D wanted to “allow individuals worldwide to 3D print composting toilets or other human-scale solutions from trash.” The team decided to focus on developing a toilet printer, now known as the Gigabot. (Jeremko mentioned that they later found 3D printing with trash to be extremely difficult!)

Aprender toda a vida!

Mais disto, no fim, do Post, hé, hé:

A Electricidade Estática, estudada desde a Grécia Antiga, não é assim tão estática!
Há mesmo, uma ínfima TRANSFERÊNCIA DE MATÉRIA!

After Thousands of Years of Research, We're Still Trying to Figure Out Static Electricity
By Clay Dillow

Today in the Things We Thought We Understood But Really Don’t file, a Northwestern University researcher has upended what was previously thought to be a pretty good understanding of how static electricity works. Static electricity goes beyond the usual theory that it's a simple imbalance of charges caused by the exchange of ions, the researchers’ paper says. Rather, it is the result of an actual transfer of material.

Static electricity has been under investigation for a few millennia now, with research dating back to the ancient Greeks. But the Northwestern team wasn’t convinced that everything was as it seemed. So they applied Kelvin probe force microscopy to the problem, which allowed them to see the varying levels of charge distributed unevenly across the surface of objects.

How to Model a Complex Fresnel Lens
By Mark Nicholson

The Annular Aspheric Lens Object

For situations where precise control of the Fresnel is needed on a ring by ring basis, the Annular Aspheric Lens Object is ideal:

This object has the surface shape of an even aspheric surface (radius, conic, and even-polynomial aspheric coefficients up to r16) on both faces, plus user-definable maximum and minimum diameters and thickness. It is ideal for modeling complex Fresnel lenses.

Elastic Band Gun: New Project Released!
Jon

This great elastic band gun projects is brought to you by Edgar the Inventor and although it’s geared more for acrylic, using 3mm thick materials, I’ve released it on WoodMarvels.com anyhow. If it works in acrylic, surely, it will work in wood as well though thicknesses may be an issue (finding 3mm thick wood that is).
You can find this project right now on WoodMarvels.com under Collaborations / Edgar the Inventor. You will want to get the assembly instructions (without plans) for this project if you get the EPS file – this project is tricky.
