Extremely Low Cost 3D Printable 3D Printer / Plotter / CNC Machine
wootin24

In this Instructable I will talk about how to build a basic three axis CNC machine. the machine itself relies on easy to find parts and the mechanical parts are all 3D printed. all of the 3D printed parts are designed by me and the files are provided, though they may need to be slightly modified depending on your specific parts. I don't intend this as a "Build this it is the best machine ever" type of Instructable. I am simply trying to dictate what is truly possible using free easy to use sdesign software and a little time. I am a 17 year old with no training on CAD at all and this shows how advanced 3d design has become, and how accessible it is to anybody. This is truly an educational Instructable, but the machine also does work.

Tudo explicado num Vídeo, com a habitual qualidade do nosso amigo King Of Random...
Maravilha.

How To Make The Mini Metal Foundry
The King of Random

In this project you’ll see how to use equal parts of sand and plaster, to make a simple backyard foundry, that’s powerful enough to melt scrap metal in seconds, but still pleasant enough keep around for decoration.

LOL

How to Build a Wood Sailboat
captainskully

I've been wanting to combine my two favorite hobbies - woodworking and sailing for a long time, so I thought I'd build a boat. It's got classic lines and looks so dazzling in the sunshine that people constantly stop me at the boat ramp to ask me about it. There's something unbelievably rewarding about building something like this from scratch. This is definitely a boat that is much better built than bought. Here's how I did it.
The boat takes about 100 hours to build. I did it over 3 months, working a little bit just about every day and full days when my schedule permitted.
It will take about $1,000 in total to build if you buy everything at full retail cost (not including tools you might need to buy), but you can spread that across the length of the project. For example, you only need to buy one $30 sheet of plywood at a time, take it home, draw out the parts (loft) that fit on just that sheet and cut them out. That will take a couple of hours right there. Some boating supply stores (chandleries) might let you setup an account which might give you a discount if you tell them you're building a boat.

MarkForged Lets You 3D Print With Carbon Fiber and Kevlar On a Budget
Mike Senese
Holy cow, 3D printed carbon fiber is crazy strong.
I got to check out some sample carbon fiber prints made on the Mark One printer at the MarkForged booth at CES 2015. The light weight and the rock-solid feel of the pieces kind of blew my mind.
The carbon fiber printing they’re doing wasn’t exactly what I expected when I heard about their printer — the machine doesn’t produce angular, stealth fighter-esque pieces with the telltale CF pattern seen on racing bikes and souped up Mustangs. Instead, it creates an FDM 3D print out of nylon filament (rather than ABS or PLA), and during the process it layers in a thin strip of carbon fiber, melted into place from carbon fiber fabric using a second extruder head. (It can also add in kevlar or fiberglass.)
That thin CF strip is all it takes to go from plastic to steel.

Simple Router Table from Reclaimed Desk
tjdux

In my Hometown here in Nebraska every spring we have a city wide clean up. Everyone in town can put almost what ever they want on the curb, or haul it to the dump yourself, and not have to pay the fee. In town they bring in dump trucks and loader tractors and go house by house, like regular garbage pick up, but will take most anything. Many people use this opportunity to throw away tons of perfectly good items that they just don't need any longer. Furniture, electronics, yard tools, (I have a friend who claims to have found a running weed eater and leaf blower). Most decent people will even tape signs onto things that still work.

SOLDAR as peças impressas?

Friction Welding Strengthens 3D Printed Assemblies
James Lefebvre

Oftentimes, multiple 3D printed parts can be difficult to connect. Glue can work, but usually it won’t produce a strong enough joint. Scorch, of Scorchworks, recently started using Friction Welding to hold his projects together, and has produced some outstanding results. Friction welding is, “the process of rubbing two surfaces together until the friction alone has created enough heat to join them.”
Friction welding is extremely useful for assembling parts that would otherwise require bridging large areas, or for building assemblies that’ll be under high stress. It can also save you in a pinch by helping to repair broken parts.

Proto-X nanocopter now available in two new offerings
Lara Lopes

You may remember Proto-X with its matchbox-sized nano quadcopter when it first launched in 2014. Although it wasn’t packed with features it was easily the world’s smallest quadcopter and was available for just US$30. Since then Hobbico, the company behind Proto-X, has added two new models to the range, the Proto-X SLT and the Proto-X FPV.
The Proto-X FPV is the largest offering which adds a 720p HD camera with a range of 240 feet. Although it’s their biggest offering, it’s still very small at just 4.5 by 4.5 inches (11.4 by 11.4cm) and weighs just 2 ounces (57 grams). The FPV takes microSD to record video up to a maximum of 32GB.

Introducing FinalProof

Arthur.

To give life to the vision we have for online 3D printing, 2014 was all about empowering our users with one-click features to give them control over their 3D designs, preparing them for a successful print. Batch Control, Hollowing, Thickening and revamped Solidity Check features were launched. This year, we take it to the next level by introducing FinalProof, the first 3D printing simulator and the 3D Print Dossier.
The challenge faced by many 3D printing users is knowing if their 3D print will live up to what they have imagined. Like any other fabrication method, 3D printing has its own particularities such as surface texture or variable printing solidity depending on part-thickness, to name a few. For a detailed breakdown of these particularities when you’re about to order a 3D print, we’ve launched FinalProof and the 3D Print Dossier.

Voxel8 Demonstrates Its Electronics-Capable 3D Printer at CES 2015
Mike Senese

Voxel8’s 3D printer is a game changer. The dual-head machine outputs plastic in standard FDM style, but also has a conductive paste extruder to allow you to create built-in electronic circuitry into your design. That’s right — 3D printable electronics.
Working with Autodesk, they’ve created software that allows you to specify your desired circuit pathways, as well as the location of the electronic components needed for it. Then it does something really slick: It automatically prints the appropriately sized cavity for the components (along with conductive traces), pauses to allow you to place the components into the spaces, and then continues printing, encapsulating them into the design.
At CES2015, the team demonstrated a fleet of micro quadcopters built using this technique. They’re currently taking preorders for the $9000 machine, and aim to be shipping later this year.

Why purchase the Cube 3D Free device ?

Sold to more than 28 Countries, the CUBE 3D FREE device allows the use of alternative filaments on printers CUBE Gen 1, Gen 2, CubeX, duo, trio from Cubify. These devices allow to pay 12x lower prices than original materials.
Buy now the device,  and stop paying more  than USD 150.00 per Kg by original cartridges if you can pay since USD 15.00 by bulk filaments.

How to Slice Up a T-Rex in 123D Make
PenfoldPlant

Grrr... Arrrgh! In this tutorial, I'm going to guide you gently through the process of using Autodesk 123D Make to turn a 3D model of a dinosaur into a cardboard model kit. It's extremely simple to do, even if you have no prior experience of using 3D software. You will, however, require either a laser cutter or a heck of a lot of patience for cutting cardboard.
123D Make is free and available to download for Macs at http://www.123dapp.com/make. There are also plans in the works to release an online version of the software which will run on PCs as well as Macs, hopefully within the next few months.

Autodesk updates two of its free desktop modeling apps
Mike McLeod
Autodesk recently updated a couple of its free consumer modeling and 3D printing prep tools. Meshmixer, the company’s simplified molding application for mixing, sculpting and painting 3D meshes, now includes a number of 3D printing enhancements. For example, the application’s new Make Slices tool creates a number of cross-sections using either a stacked or stacked3D technique. Users can also add/edit custom printers allowing for model prep to any 3D printer.

Make an H Quadcopter with 3D printing by

Lets make a 3D printed quadcopter frame! This build is for the 3D Design contest, along with my hobby. This frame is different compared to conventional frames wherein its more of a Cross or X, This frame is more of a Semi H/X. Compared to other frames this design will give you a lot of space especially for your FPV equipment, Gimbal, and more. Its Faster than your normal X configuration quad, just pack it with some of your favorite motors,ESC', Batteries and receivers and your ready to go
This build will be concentrating on the frame build and electronics parts only for the tuning I will give you a handy website to learn
Design: The design is based from the 250 Blackout mini Quad, I was inspired in our local flying which lead me to making this using my old F450 parts. The 250 Blackout frame is famous among mini Racers since its designed to crash and its length gives it the upper hand to pitch forward with ease and speed

Wood Burning Sauna DIY

This is my first Instructable but I have used so many for ideas and love the cmmunity input!
I live in downstate Michigan and went to college in the UP met a whole crew of Finlanders and was introduced to the Sauna! and its pronounced SOuna not SAWNA but i still slip from time to time if you arnt a yooper it takes time.

I graduated and moved back downstate for work but my life was lacking because i no longer had access to the "poor mans medicine box" so naturally i want to fill that gap. Research began to see my options for having my own sauna. Student Loan debt is a mother sucker and takes up a large portion of my income so $$ was tight so building looked better than buying and of course is much more rewarding.

SmartVideo for YouTube Fixes Buffer Problems on Slow Connections
Thorin Klosowski

Chrome/Firefox: If you're on a slow internet connection, YouTube's unbearable to use. It never seems to know when to start playing and when to stop buffering. SmartVideo for YouTube gives you control over all that.
SmartVideo gives you control over YouTube buffering in all sorts of ways. You can set it up so the buffer has to fully load before the video will play, or leave it on the "smart buffer" that decides when to start playing the video based on your download speed. There are a few other little options built into SmartVideo, but its main appeal is the minute control you get over buffering. If you're stuck on a slow connection, it makes YouTube a lot more bearable
