Tinijet — Affordable Waterjet Cutting At Home
James Hobson

While laser cutting remains the dominant force for rapid prototyping anything made of plastic, MDF or wood, the real holy grail is the ability to cut metal — something most laser cutters are just not capable of.
In the industry, this is done using extremely high-powered laser cutters, plasma cutters, or water jet cutters. All of which are very pricey equipment for a hacker. Until now anyway. Introducing the Tinijet, the missing tool for affordable water jet cutting.
We first covered this project a few years ago when it was just a university research project called Hydro — it’s since evolved immensely, and will be available for sale very soon.

Step-by-step Guidance to Build a Drone From Scratch Using Ardupilot APM Navio2 Flight Controller
Simkaisheng

Ardupilot is a widely used open source unmanned vehicle autopilot software that is capable of performing many functions. Documentations and various sources have provided us with the basic knowledge of the setups and use each separate component of a drone but none has provided a detailed guide on how to put them together to build the drone’s hardware with guided steps of component setup and assembly from scratch, together with all necessary configuration and setups.
This article is written to combine all scattered information into one piece, to provide a step-by-step guidance from head to tail of how to build and assemble a quadcopter from scratch and how to perform all setup configurations required using the Navio2 Ardupilot flight controller. Other flight controllers from APM or others can also partly rely on this guide.

Earn Design Royalties
Sherry Wong

Professional designers can now earn for contributing to the Vention platform
We are extremely proud to release the design royalty feature, enabling designers, wherever they are located, to be compensated for designs they publish to the Vention public library.
This is a feature we had envisioned in the very early days of Vention as a way to share the success and benefits of the platform with all of our users. All of the underlying building blocks to enable the design royalty feature are now in place, and we are happy to finally make this announcement.
This is how it works: You can earn royalties of 2.5% of the design value for every design that you publish on the Vention public assembly library that is then bought by another user. Royalties are deposited in the form of credit and can be seen on your profile section on the site.
This feature is meant to encourage users to publish their designs to the public library and to foster collaboration among the community. If you are interested in viewing existing designs, you can easily browse them here by using our existing categories, searching for keywords, and/or using our Design Tags (ie. hashtags).
